Revving up to help in the fight against pediatric brain tumors.
That's the goal of motorcyclists taking part in the Western North Carolina Ride for Kids this weekend.
The ride on Sunday hopes to raise $115,000 for pediatric brain tumor research.
Battling a malignant tumor has been a tough but successful climb for seventh grader Aaron Laws.
Event organizers want to stop the suffering.
Carlos Maristany, Ride for Kids, "I do this for the kids there are 4,000 that get diagnosed every year, 28,000 living nationwide with a brain tumor."
Karen Laws, Aaron's mother, "in the last two years, there have been over 500 motorcycles there in attendance, and it's just amazing to see all the motorcycles all makes and kinds, the different individuals who come out from all the clubs, it's just a great support."
The event starts 10AM Sunday at gate 5 at the WNC Ag Center Expo Hall.
Day-of registration is from 8am to 9:30am, and costs $50.
You can per-register through noon Friday for $40. For more information, click here.
