Top 100 Places to Work

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 10:17 PM EDT
Two of the best places to work in healthcare are here in the mountains.

Park Ridge Health and Mission Health are among the top 100 great places to work, according to Becker's Hospital Review.

Kathy Bumgarner, V.P. Mission Human Resources, "it's nice to have the recognition, but what really matters to Mission's employees is to be able to provide care to the residents of Western North Carolina."

Mission is cited for a home-buyer education program and on-site child care, while emphasizing personal health.

Wellness is also part of the Park Ridge critique, along with strong communication and bonus incentives.

Brandon Nudd, Park Ridge Health, "I'm not surprised we were ranked in the top 100 because we provide a lot of opportunity for our employees."

Sandra Root, RN Park Ridge Health, "the benefits, the atmosphere, the friendships... It makes the whole total package."

Officials with both facilities indicate happy employees are more productive,  which translates to better patient care.Top 100 Places to Work
