Discovery Camp

School may be out, but area students are getting some hands-on lessons at the Aboretum.

It's part of the "Discovery Camp" there, and what they're learning goes well beyond nature.

During Discovery Camp, the children will be doing a variety of activities like rafting or going on nature walks.

That means it's important that they know how to work together and are comfortable with each other.

After the team-building exercise, rising second and third graders went on a senses hike, it involves them using their 5 senses to identify and experience various parts of nature.

Discovery camp runs all summer long.
