Ambassadors of Peace

It's no secret teachers can use all the help they can get to make sure students get along.
So one teacher has started a program that teaches children how to solve their own problems.
They are called the Ambassadors of Peace, children who help other children solve their own problems.
Maureen Wellbery at Avery's Creek Elementary started the ambassador program this year .
So far there are 40 members, chosen by their teachers and peers
The ambassadors' main job is to help teachers on the playground where conflicts can easily occur.
But they're also key in the cafeteria, especially for new students
The ambassadors say they've even learned how to get along better with their own friends, which of course is the best part.
And of course if there are bigger problems or problems they can't help solve, they are told to always get an adult.
