Some mountain students have been waiting for weeks for this night to arrive and it's finally here!
Today, they had one of their last rehearsals before their big performance at Glen Arden Elementary school.
For the last 2 weeks students have been learning about their Appalachian heritage and culture and tonight they'll share that information with their parents and friends.
They're learning Western North Carolina is a special place and it should be celebrated.
And in the art class students are learning about the animals that are native to Western North Carolina.
They colored these beautiful pictures of the great horned owl, which are found here in the forest.
During tonights Appalachian heritage event the kids will have their artwork on display.
There will also be clogging, dancing and an apple tasting.
