Bee Log Blast-Off

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 09:18 PM EDT
The smallest school in the TarHeel state, gets a big grant.

Kindergarten, first and second graders at Bee Log Elementary are getting to see what the earth looks like from space.

Matt Price with the Colburn Museum in Asheville visits the Yancey County School once a month through a state funded education outreach grant.

Today he's brought along his Geo Dome so the kids can see some really cool pictures as they travel through the atmosphere.

The kids also learn about the international space station, the affects the moon has on the earth, and why we have a change of seasons.

Students say they can't wait to see what Mr. Matt brings with him next month.
