When it comes to community service, one group of local students have got it covered.
After raising money for victims of Hurricane Sandy last year, they're now helping others right here at home.
4th and 5th graders at Sugarloaf Elementary School are counting their covers. The students are collecting blankets for those in need.
It's part of a service learning project the students have organized and are operating for the next few weeks.
Sugarloaf is a Leader in me School, where students learn about the 7 habits of being a responsible person.
The blankets are being donated to the Interfaith Assistance Ministry in Hendersonville.
The kids will be collected blankets for the non-profit organization throughout December.
If you would like to help you can drop off new or gently used blankets at Sugarloaf Elementary School.
