Evergreen Rock Hounds

Experts visit a mountain classroom to teach students about what the earth is made of. As you'll see in  this Never Stop Learning report, the kids "dig it".

1st graders at Evergreen Community Charter School are panning for the perfect treasure. The rock hounds sift through the sand and then take their precious minerals inside to identify them.

Amber with High Touch High Tech guides them along as the young geologists examine each one. The students have been learning about the world around them from the different people who live here to the things we couldn't live without.

"It's fun because we get to learn about different places around the world," said Sadie.

Students say the best thing about this in house field trip is that they get to keep their rocks.
