Armed with milk, cheese and whole grain pasta, students at one mountain middle are preparing for their final exam. The challenge is to make the best homemade chicken Alfredo in the class.
Four cooking teams are taking part in Enka Middle Schools' Iron Chef 2014. Students have less than an hour to prepare their dish, but they said the rush was worth it!
Teacher Joseph Lilly says this "hands on" portion of the students final exam includes all of the things they've learned in class, like food safety and sanitation, measurements, time management and team work.
It came down to the wire, but everyone beat the clock.
The students were not competing against each other but rather working as a team to earn the most points in preparation, presentation and taste.
