Updated: Wednesday, January 1 2014, 01:28 PM EST

A vintage dance of the 30's and 40's is kicking up its heels in Asheville. Just in time for New Year's, people are signing up to learn how to do the "Lindy."

An instructor teaches a student how to do the Lindy Hop, the original swing dance named after Charles Lindbergh's famous "hop" across the atlantic.

The annual Lindy Focus Dance Camp is underway at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville. The dance has followers all over the world and continues to grow in popularity.

The Lindy camp winds-up Tuesday night with a big bash at the Crowne Plaza to dance in the New Year. There are still tickets available, click here for more information.
