It's one great example of how teamwork can make the toughest job seem easy.

Members of the TarHeel Junior Historians are helping Dennis Restack with an aging fence at the Vance birthplace.

Dennis Owenby is the caretaker of these 6 acres and he says it's a lot of work to maintain it all by himself.

The kids don't mind though, they meet here once a month and know importance of keeping it maintained.

They say the historical site is a local treasure.

This is the 4th year for the Tar Heel Junior Historians.

They are 45 members strong!TarHeel Junior Historians
