Investigative Report: CTS Site Testing
Updated: Friday, April 11 2014, 10:57 AM EDT
The EPA has returned to a controversial superfund site in south Asheville.
This week, the EPA will start taking new samples at the old CTS site.
They want to determine how deep and how wide the contamination from the plant may have spread on the site as well as nearby properties.
CTS shut down the plant on on Mills Gap Road 26 years ago.
A year and a half ago the county tore down the building, but contamination from the plant remains.
This latest round of testing is expected to take 3 months.
