Asheville Puppy Rescue

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 09:21 PM EDT

There's another case of animal cruelty in the mountains.  Recently, a two month old puppy is thrown from a car and left for dead in Buncombe County.

After being rescued from the side of the road, Grace was rushed to the Animal Hospital of North Asheville.  Veterinarians had to give her oxygen and x-rays showed she had bruising on both of her lungs plus they were full of blood. Grace was in critical care for 48 hours.

Today, she is a playful, happy little puppy and so ready to love. Officials with the Asheville Humane Society say Grace is healing well but not out of the woods yet. She will need 2 to 3 weeks more to allow her lungs to fully heal before she will be cleared for adoption.
