Hendersonville photographer Dave Allen never knows where his photos might turn up. Tuesday night, one image ended up in the hands of game show icon Pat Sajak."You're going to North Carolina," the host told a Wheel Of Fortune contestant, holding a prize panel off the wheel that has a familiar local setting. It's Allen's photo. "The picture's called the great blue yonder," Allen says, "shot south of Brevard on the Blue Ridge Parkway. ""I sell my work through various agencies," he explains. "I never know who's buying them or how they are being used so this happens probably a lot more than I'm aware of. "The game show exposure lasted less than 30 seconds. Allen says he's used to seeing his photos pop up on books and on TV. "It's amazing to me that people enjoy my images and they turn up in these places."
