Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 10:21 PM EDT

A teacher's aid at an Asheville elementary school is accused of taking indecent liberties with young girls. 25-year-old Davonte Jackson is a teaching assistant at Ira B. Jones Elementary. He was arrested on Tuesday.

The parent's of two of his alleged victims say they reported to abuse to the school months before Jackson was arrested. They say they're furious the school didn't immediately remove Jackson from the classroom.

Neither mother wanted to be identified, but say when the girls told them what happened, they called the principal at Ira B. Jones Elementary right away.

In a statement, the Asheville City School district says they investigated the complaints and turned the case over to the Asheville Police Department. The mothers say they're glad Jackson has been caught, but the punishment comes months too late.

Davonte Jackson is the second Asheville City School employee to be charged with taking indecent liberties this year. 29-year-old Aaron Paul Cook, a Vance Elementary School teacher, was arrested in January.

Davonte Jackson is out of jail on $20,000 bond.
