Holiday Light Energy Calculator

Updated: Tuesday, December 10 2013, 10:32 PM EST
Can you save money by switching your holiday lights from incandescent bulbs to LED?  Duke Energy has a website that helps you calculate the savings.

Stores selling holiday lights are now filling shelves with LED holiday lights. Home Depot's spokesperson says, "they cost almost twice as much but use more than 75 percent less energy."

The Duke Energy site lets you plug in the type of bulb your using and the number of strands.  It then calculates the cost and allows you to compare it to the same number of strands of LED lights.  Click here to see the calculator.Holiday Light Energy Calculator
