Kyra's Recovery

A Buncombe County teenager whose hand was severed in a car crash then re-attached continues her recovery. Kyra Arias and her friend Mike Sieben survived a collision with a drunk driver in September 2011. Now Kyra does regular therapy at Carolina Hand and Sports Medicine. She's progressed from picking-up cotton balls with a hand that had no feeling to sewing projects that involve isolated finger mobility. What Kyra can do 14-months after the wreck has been remarkable and continues to improve.
