With the holidays approaching, you might not spend as much time at home. But you can still keep an eye on it with some great apps. Barry Humphries from Verizon, stopped by to share some of these gadgets.

Here's the info on the gadgets Humphries shared:

Iris Safe and Secure ($179.00)
The Iris Safe and Secure home system is a reliable and easy-to-use alarm system for your home that operates on Verizon’s network. Iris comes with a motion sensor, door and window contact sensors, and a keypad. You can then use the Iris app on your Apple or Android device to remotely monitor your security system. You can record video on command, lock and unlock doors remotely and receive notifications directly to your smartphone or tablet whenever an alarm is triggered.

Belkin WeMo Baby Audio Monitor ($69.99)
These days, we always have our smartphones with us, so why not get rid of extra devices and use your smartphone to monitor your baby? The WeMo Baby Monitor from Belkin works with the free WeMo Baby app so you can listen to your baby in clear digital sound. There’s even a premium upgrade available that sends you alerts when your baby cries.

Liberty Mutual’s Home Gallery (Free apps for Android and iPhone)
In the unfortunate case of loss or theft, it’s important to have a running inventory of the items in your home. The Home Gallery app from Liberty Mutual is free for your iPhone or Android, whether you’re a Liberty Mutual customer or not. This app lets you photograph your belongings and catalog them by room or category. You can even export your inventory as a spreadsheet or PDF as a back up in case your device is ever lost or damaged.

NetCam HD Wi-Fi Camera ($129.99)
If you simply want to keep an eye on a specific room – perhaps the back porch where your cat stays or the playroom where your kids spend their afternoons, NetCam from Belkin could be a good option. NetCam partners with your smartphone or tablet for 24/7 access to your home, no matter where you are. The NetCam can stream or record high-definition, wide-angle video and crystal-clear audio.

Red Cross Tornado and Hurricane Apps (Free apps for Android and iPhone)
Natural disasters are one of the greatest threats to our safety and security at home. The Red Cross has two great apps that can help you prepare to protect your home and your family when a hurricane or tornado is on its way. These apps give you simple steps and checklists to help you create a family emergency plan or assemble an emergency kit, and they are preloaded with content that gives users instant access to critical action steps even without mobile connectivity.
