Aiken County Fatal Accident
Updated: Monday, February 4 2013, 01:57 PM EST A 22-year-old South Carolina man is dead after an early morning single-car crash. Kirby A. White of Aiken was driving north along Wire Road near Old Shoals Road in his 2006 Mitsubishi when he veered off the road and struck a tree, according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office. White was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened at about 2 a.m. Investigators said in a news release that speed was a factor and alcohol may have also been a contributing factor to the accident. The Coroner's Office is waiting on toxicology results to determine if alcohol was a factor. White died as a result of multiple body traumas. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
