Air Force One Arrives
Updated: Wednesday, February 13 2013, 08:17 PM EST
President Obama arrived on Air Force One Wednesday morning and left a couple of hours later. The plane landed around 11:15 a.m. and departed around 1:20 p.m.
It was a short visit, but one that was prepared for heavily by the Asheville Airport. Roads were closed as the president traveled to and from the airport Wednesday, slowing some drivers during the lunch hour.
The president's flight into Asheville wasn't exactly smooth. According to pool reporters on the plane, they encountered "white knuckle" and "sickness inducing" turbulence. They also reported hearing plates and glasses breaking in the galley.
