Child Pornography Arrests

The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two Yancey County men for charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Tommie Don Boings, 45, of Burnsville was arrested on Thursday, March 21, 2013 and charged with two counts of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and two counts of Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.  He is being held in the Yancey County Jail under a $150,000.00 Secured Bond.

Michael Paul Williams, 34, of Burnsville was arrested on Thursday, March 21, 2013 and charged with two counts of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Child and two counts of Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Child.  He is being held in the Yancey County Jail under a $150,000.00 Secured Bond.

During the course of this internet based investigation, it was determined that these two individuals were in possession of multiple images that depicted children in a lewd manner or children involved in sex acts.

The investigation also uncovered that they were offering to participate in the distribution of these files via the internet.  Officers executed a search warrant at a residence and seized several pieces of computer equipment from the residence.

This investigation is ongoing and further charges are possible. 

These arrests are the result of a joint investigation between the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office and the NC State Bureau of Investigation, members of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.  Child Pornography Arrests
