Father Charged with Child Abuse

An Arden man has been charged with felony child abuse after his daughter was brought into a hospital with a broken leg. Police say 35-year-old Trevor Ridge was taken into custody Friday after his 4-month-old infant suffered a spiral femur fracture.
The infant's mother, Susan Marie Zimmermann says she was at work and their daughter's father was providing care when he called her at work and said,"you need to come home, Tessa needs to go to the hospital." Zimmermann says she had no reason to believe her daughter's father could be violent. She says 4-month-old Tessa Blue is recovering and should make a full recovery.
Ridge is being held under a $10,000 bond in the Buncombe County Detention Center.
