Five Life-Saving Tests
Updated: Tuesday, February 26 2013, 07:31 PM EST
There are five life-saving tests that doctors say every woman should know about. They're a mammogram, a pap test, a colonoscopy, a heart health check and a skin test.
Doctors say if there's anything wrong anywhere in your body, somewhere in these five tests, an indicator will most likely show up. With just about any disease out there, early detection will make the difference.
Dr. Lorena Wafe of Mission Adult Health at Biltmore says one of the key obstacles she faces in getting women in to get tested is that they're busy and they're often the caretakers. The other major hurdle is often financial. Often, you can knock three of these out during a basic physical appointment. Mammograms could likely fit it into a lunch break.
