Fix A Leak Week
Updated: Monday, March 18 2013, 01:42 PM EDT
Fix A Leak Week is an annual, nationwide campaign by the US Environmental Protection Agency.
The campaign promotes consumer education and encourages homeowners and businesses to find and fix common leaks within their plumbing systems.
Nationally, more than 1.25 trillion gallons of water is lost each year through minor leaks in homes throughout U.S. The most common, undetected leak happens in a toilet. Often such leaks can be easily stopped by simply repairs most homeowners are capable of performing.
Fix A Leak Week events this year are part of the “Asheville Water Is Worth It” campaign. “Our focus is the distribution of free water conservation kits to Asheville resident.” Say’s Chris Hanson. The kits, valued at up to $50, are available FREE to Asheville residents. Kit contents are listed online at FixALeakWeek.com.
Kits are available for pick up between March 18th and March 24th 2013 at any of the following locations throughout Asheville.
- Asheville GreenWorks
- Warren Wilson College
- Little Green Frog Inc.
- PlumbSmart Technologies
- Wesley Grant Community Center
- Shiloh Community Center
