Franklin Plant Closes

A manufacturing plant in Franklin shuts down putting more than one hundred workers out of job.
Whitley Products told employees its lender hadn't provided anticipated funding and would have to cease operations if alternative funding wasn't found, or a buyer.
Workers were told Thursday that the plant that makes metal tubing for engines and industrial equipment was closing. Many are heading to the Joblink office filing for unemployment, and looking for job seeking skills, and training.
However, a Whitley manager says there are interested parties in buying the plant and he's optimistic about something working out shortly.
