Frost Concerns

Updated: Thursday, April 25 2013, 10:28 PM EDT

That cold snap in the forecast includes a frost advisory for apple growing country in Henderson County. Growers aren't worried about major losses, but they say some of the fruit could be damaged in valleys and low spots.

Some of the blossoms in Kenny Barnwell's orchards in Edneyville are already showing brown petals from a frost last weekend. That's not enough to ruin a crop and growers hope the cold snap won't cause any more damage. Barnwell lost 85 percent of his crop last year because of a heavy frost after the trees had blossomed.
