Gary Hilton Sentencing

Updated: Thursday, April 25 2013, 03:10 PM EDT

A confessed serial killer, who pleaded guilty to killing two hikers from Henderson County, is sentenced to two consecutive life sentences without parole.

Last year, Gary Hilton admitted to killing John and Irene Bryant as they hiked in the Pisgah National Forest in October 2007.

In just a couple hours Hilton will go from the Buncombe jail to federal court to learn his fate in the brutal killings John & Irene Bryant nearly six years ago.

The crime happened while the Bryants hiked in Pisgah National Forest in Transylvania County.

An autopsy found Irene Bryant died from several blows to the head, John Bryant died of a bullet to the head.

Hilton already has the death penalty for a 2011 Florida killing, and life in prison for a 2008 Georgia killing.

Hilton's sentencing here is scheduled for 2pm.

We'll be there and have an update tonight on News 13.
