Four people charged in a violent home invasion in Weaverville have pled guilty. 19-year-old Davis Hale, of Fletcher, is facing the longest sentence of 8.5 years in prison. Police identified him as the shooter.
Hale and three others kicked in the front door of a house on Meadowview Terrace early one morning in March. The victims inside were asleep, then tied up and robbed of $300.
Hale faced an additional charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Deputies say he shot Robert Miles in the hip with an AK 47. The other defendants will be sentenced to a minimum of four years.
