Ice House Demolition

An eyesore in Asheville's River Arts District is finally coming down. On Monday, demolition started on the old Ice House on Riverside Drive. On Wednesday, only one wall is left standing.


Neighbors say they're both happy and sad to see the building come down, but agree it's time for something new to take up this space.


Starting in the spring, the city of Asheville will take public input about what to do with this space.
