Mitchell Co. Couple Charged In Armed Robbery

Deputies in Mitchell County arrested a couple on armed robbery charges.
Deputies arrested 27-year-old Richard Mcalister and 25-year-old Destiny Bailey. Both are from Bakersville. Mcalister is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Bailey is charged with aiding and abetting a robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The Mitchell County Sheriff's Office says it got a tip from a victim who told them the pair robbed him at knifepoint of $350 and dozens of oxycodone pills.
The couple is in jail on $90,000 secured bond. They are scheduled to appear in court February 1st.
