Mitchell Co. Rockslide

A rockslide blocked a stretch of Highway 226 in Mitchell County Wednesday afternoon.


The entire road was closed for a time near Fork Mountain Road, but the NCDOT quickly got one lane re-opened between Bakersville and Buladean.


All lanes were reopened around 9 p.m.
