A mother is arrested for driving while impaired with her three year old daughter in the car, but that's just the beginning of the charges she's facing.
Waynesville Police say 27-year-old Kimberly Uptergrove was under the influence when they arrested her at the McDonald’s on Russ Avenue about 9 p.m. Monday night. They say her eyes were bloodshot, dilated, and glossy and they could smell alcohol and marijuana coming from the vehicle.
According to the police report, she resisted taking sobriety checks and at one point backed her car into the restaurant. Also in the car were two men, Craig Moyer, and the girl's father, Guy Plumer.
Uptergrove faces DWI, non-assaultive child abuse, and littering charges. The two men are charged with drug violations. Plumer with non-assaultive child abuse as well. All three are from South Carolina.
Trial dates are scheduled for March 13 and May 7th. The little girl is in the care of Haywood County DSS.
