New Belgium Community Meeting

Updated: Tuesday, April 9 2013, 09:41 PM EDT
Asheville neighborhood groups, city officials and a representative from New Belgium Brewing met Monday night, to talk about what needs to be done following two arsons on company property.

The fires Friday destroyed one vacant building and heavily damaged another.

The Craven Street location where New Belgium will build its operation is now a dark, secluded area and many West Asheville residents say something needs to be done now to secure it and make it safer.

New Belgium has already stepped-up security patrols, will install more fencing and is also looking at the possibility of adding lights around the construction site.

If you have any information about the arsons, call Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050.
