New Cashiers Recreation Center

A second recreation center is now open in Jackson County. The new facility is in Cashiers.

Commissioners worked to make sure it blended in with the community and didn't impact a river nearby. The $3.8 million project came in under budget and features a fitness center and a full-size gymnasium with a track around it.

The new recreation center employs four full-time workers and about ten part-time employees.
