Updated: Wednesday, March 27 2013, 11:25 PM EDT
Animal rights group PETA is now offering a $3,000 reward to find the person who dumped two dogs in a dumpster in Swain County.

One was dead, the other wrapped in a plastic bag with injuries to its muzzle.

The surviving dog has been re-named Bryson, and is being cared for by "Noah's Ark" in Macon County.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Swain County Sheriff's office at 828-488-0159.
