Prayer Vigil For Sandy Hook

More than a thousand miles away from Newtown, sadness and grief is being felt in the mountains. The town of Sylva held a prayer vigil Tuesday night to remember the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary. Many say the tragedy in Connecticut hits too close to home.
Dozens of folks of all denominations joined together at Bridge Park to pray for the 20 children and six adults shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary. One by one, the victims names were read out loud and a bell was rung in their honor. Candles were also lit to keep the memory of these victims alive.
The prayer vigil was a collaborative effort. Town leaders and local churches came together in a moments notice to bring the community together.
