A local military dad is reunited with his daughter after 10 months of service. Petty Officer Dale Williams just finished his second tour of duty with the United States Navy and is now home for good.
Williams arrived at the Greenville Spartanburg International Airport around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. He was greeted by his daughter, mother and a group of friends. The navy diver was deployed to Guantanomo Bay last April.
After serving 10 months he is back home in the mountains for good. He will have to continue training with the reserves one weekend a month. Both he and his daughter say it will be nice to finally spend some time together.
Last October, Williams made a quick trip home to surprise his daughter, Kendall, at an Erwin High School football game.
Williams says the first thing he'll be hitting up is Rev It Ups Sandwich Shop for a roast beef sandwich. Then it's off to watch Kendall cheer at Erwin High's basketball game Friday night.
