SC Sex Education Bill

Updated: Thursday, April 18 2013, 08:46 AM EDT
The South Carolina house is postponing a vote to update that state's 25-year-old law on sex education in schools.

The bill would require students get medically accurate information on how to prevent teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

It also requires teachers be certified to teach the course.

Supporters say students need accurate information about their bodies to make wise choices.

Opponents say the only message students should receive in school is to avoid sex until marriage.SC Sex Education Bill
