Severe Weather Awareness Week
Updated: Tuesday, March 5 2013, 07:36 AM EST
A forecast calling for snow is providing the perfect example for Severe Weather Awareness Week.
This week Emergency Management Coordinators across the state are sharing life-saving information for us to use in emergency weather situations.
They say you need to have a Disaster Supply Kit, a NOAA weather radio or sing up for weather alerts with the new CMAS (Commercial Mobile Alert System) on your mobile devices. And remember to have a disaster plan including a set meeting place and phone numbers to contact each family member. Click here to see the full list of what to include in disaster kits and plans.
South Carolina is holding a Tornado Drill in its Public Schools today. North Carolina will do the same tomorrow.
