Snow Preparations In Western Counties
Updated: Friday, January 18 2013, 08:49 AM EST
Residents in the higher elevations of Western North Carolina stocked up on food ahead of time and filled gas tanks in anticipation of snow and did whatever is needed to stay warm in their homes.
Thanks to a week-long soaker, the snow came in wet. Some folks, who run businesses that depend on snow, are glad to see it like the Cataloochee ski area and the revenue it generates.
Others made trips to the hardware store for shovels, ice melt and heaters and fuel for warmth. But there's fun too, with parents making sure their kids have sleds.
