So...Is the Snow Over?
Updated: Wednesday, March 27 2013, 11:23 PM EDT
Western North Carolina is finally coming out of the unseasonable deep freeze that has mountain folk wondering whether spring will ever feel like it.
It's still way colder than it's supposed to be on March 27th.
As far as snow, it's mostly flurries blowing up in the Tennessee border counties, nothing like what we've had been seeing this week.
It's still picture-perfect across much the higher elevations, scenes right out of a book of winter landscapes.
But spring officially arrived exactly one week ago today and many would like for "mother nature" to catch-up.
Lisa Baughn, Jonesboro, TN, "I am so ready for spring, I'm a california girl and so all this winter, all this gloom is killing me.. I'm ready for spring 100%.. but on the other hand, it's kind of cool to see one last snow."
Some people have mixed emotions, obviously, and it remains to be seen if it is the last snow.
This one is still keeping crews busy, hauling salt around to hit spots where snow has melted and could re-freeze.
But the major roads like I-26 are dry, and the DOT and highway patrol says despite some light snowfall overnight, all was quiet.
