A soldier from the mountains comes home for the holidays.
Army Sergeant Jonathon Burnette arrived at the Asheville Regional Airport Sunday night to a big welcome from his family.
He's served two tours with the Marines, and two tours in Afghanistan with the Army.
Sgt Burnette says has decided to make every day count, while on leave, he is growing a beard and leaving his uniform behind.
Sgt. Jonathan Burnette, "it is the first Christmas I've been home in four years, it really is, and so I'm going to spend Christmas with my boy."
That boy is five-year-old Kaden Burnette. He could not be at the airport last night, but father and son will be together today.
Sergeant Burnette has two more years left on his tour of duty. After that, he says he's considering the Army Reserves.
