Tanning Regulations

North Carolina lawmakers are taking up a bill that would ban the use of tanning beds by minors.
A House committee considered a bill Tuesday to prohibit tanning salons from having customers under the age of 18. Currently anyone 13-years-old or younger can not use a tanning bed unless a doctor gives a written prescription.
Supporters of the bill say the risks of young people getting cancer from tanning are too high.
