Three Arrested after Robbery-Assault

Three Forest City men were arrested Saturday night after a burglary and assault incident.
Officers with the Forest City Police department were dispatched to 137 Loblolly Lane at 7:49 p.m. in reference to an assault in progress, according to a news release.
When officers arrived on the scene two suspects fled the scene immediately.
Officers were able to located and arrest Demurice Abrams, 25, of 703 Academy Street, Spindale; Dorrien Goode, 20, of 161 Guffey Road, Forest City and Darrien Watkins, 20, of 377 Willow Run Drive, Forest City.
The officer’s investigation determined the suspects entered a residence at 233 Oakridge Drive in Forest City without permission.
The suspects assaulted Anthony Gaffney, 22, and robbed him of a pair of shoes he was wearing.
Gaffney was taken to Rutherford County Regional Hospital and was treated and released.
All three men were charged with first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill or cause serious injury.
The dangerous weapon was determined to be a B.B. pistol found at the residence.
Each received a $150,000 secured bond and were placed in the Rutherford County jail.
After a search warrant was executed to search the suspects’ residences, Gaffney was additionally charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and maintaining a dwelling for the use or sale of a controlled substance.
