Tougher Meth Laws

Lawmakers in Raleigh are considering tougher laws on meth. The changes include requiring a prescription for cold remedies containing pseudoephedrine, one of the main ingredients in making meth. Currently pharmacies now must enter customers into a national database when they buy medicine containing pseudoephedrine. The database blocks the sale of any person who buys large quantities. Lawmakers are also considering increasing penalties for making meth when children are present.
