Two Men Shot In Parking Lot

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (January 1, 2013), Spartanburg Public Safety Officers responded to 1601 John B. White Blvd, the Spinx Station, in reference to a shooting incident.


As officers arrived on scene, they spoke with witnesses who stated several females were fighting in the parking lot. Later several males exited their vehicles and became involved in the incident. All involved parties fled the scene prior to police arrival.


On January 1, 2013, the Spartanburg Public Safety Department responded to 1601 John B. White Blvd, the Spinx Station, in reference to a shooting incident. As officers arrived on scene, they spoke with witnesses who stated that several females starting fighting in the parking lot. The responding officers reported that several males became involved and started shooting. The witness reported that the suspect was wearing a black stocking cap, black shirt, and jeans. According to the incident report the suspect fired two shots in the air and then started shooting at people.


This incident resulted in two people being shot. One of the victims, a black male juvenile age 16, was shot in the head. The other victim Gregory Bennent, a black male age 21, received gun shot wounds to both of his legs. Both victims were transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center by a privately owned vehicle. Neither of the victims injuries appear to be life threatening.
