Yancey County Snow

Snow fell most of Sunday morning in parts of Yancey County.
And that forced business owners to dig out parking lots to get the work week started.
As much as five inches fell in Burnsville and left some lots with ice firmly bonded to the pavement.
Drivers also had to creep along icy spots in shady areas on steep roads and streets.
With overnight temperatures in the 20’s the morning following a snow requires caution.
For kids out of school it was time to set up the ramps and take advantage of their backyard ski resorts.
But as the sun popped out and began the big melt they were forced to shovel up buckets of snow to keep their slopes in shape.
