Parkside Debate Goes On (07/15/08

People fought for and against the planned Parkside Condominium project, inside and outside Asheville City Hall Tuesday evening.
Developer Stewart Coleman made a presentation to City Council, during a work session.
He needs the city to grant him a temporary easement for construction equipment once the project begins.
Otherwise, he'll have to build his Parkside Condos farther to the North and even closer to the new Pack Square Park.
Coleman hopes to formally ask City Council for the easement at their next meeting.
Meanwhile, outside, protesters continued their vigil in and around the Magnolia tree that has become the rallying point for opponents to the project.
