People lined Sugarloaf Road in Henderson County to welcome home a former deputy paralyzed from the neck down in a horse riding accident.
Officers on motorcycles escorted Shane Thomas from a rehabilitation center in Atlanta to his home.
Officers, rescue workers, 25 fire trucks, family and friends watched as the motorcade stopped, and Thomas, in a wheelchair greeted his parents.
A mounted patrol officer and his horse stood close by as the crowd applauded.
Deputies say Thomas always worked hard, and now inspires them with his hope and determination.
Shane's parents says they have have faith that he will walk again.
