Investigators uncover a strange twist in a Haywood County murder case.
27-year-old Matthew Caldwell was arrested last week and charged with second degree murder in the death of 44-year-old Jessie Parker.
Now, Caldwell's been indicted on first degree murder charges.
Investigators also say Parker isn't the only one Caldwell planned to kill.
His wife, 27-year-old Crystal Moody, is charged with accessory after the fact.
Detectives say she helped Caldwell hide Parker's body.
Investigators say the couple also teamed up with 24-year-old Alicia Creasman and 22-year-old Ashley Duckett in a plot to kill Creasman's husband.
News 13 has learned deputies discovered their plan while investigating Parker's murder.
All four are charged with conspiracy to commit murder and second degree burglary.
Investigators say Creasman and her husband were separated, and arguing over custody of their child.
They will not say whether that is indeed the reason Creasman wanted her husband dead.
